May at Marshall County Co-op: Celebrating Growth, Gratitude & the Season Ahead

May is a beautiful time of year in Marshall County – a season filled with blooming flowers, warmer days, and meaningful celebrations. At Marshall County Co-op, it’s one of our favorite times of year as we welcome both the growing season and the community traditions that come with it.

🌼 Our Annual Mother’s Day Flower Event

One of the highlights of May is our Annual Mother’s Day Flower Event, happening May 4th through May 10th. This is a can’t-miss tradition for many in our community – and once you experience it, you’ll see why!

During this special event, you’ll find:

  • Stunning hanging flower baskets
  • A wide selection of shrubs and trees
  • Beautiful annuals and perennials
  • Unique decorative garden items
  • Plenty of vegetable plants
  • Quality soils and fertilizers
  • And just about everything you need to bring your garden to life!

Not only do we offer special pricing on select items, but our knowledgeable staff will be available throughout the event to answer questions, offer advice, and help you find exactly what you need. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just getting started, we’re here to help you grow with confidence.

We take pride in creating a welcoming, enjoyable shopping experience – many of our customers say this is their favorite event of the year, and we work hard to make it a beautiful place to browse, shop, and be inspired.

🇺🇸 Memorial Day: A Time for Reflection

USA flags at half mast

As May ends, we observe Memorial Day, which also marks the unofficial start of summer. While many associate the weekend with picnics, gatherings, and outdoor fun, it’s important to remember the true meaning behind the day.

Memorial Day is dedicated to honoring and remembering the men and women who gave their lives while serving in the United States Armed Forces. It is a day of remembrance, sacrifice, and gratitude.

For that reason, many believe it’s more appropriate to say, “Have a meaningful Memorial Day” or “Remember and honor”, rather than “Happy Memorial Day.” The day carries a solemn purpose – to reflect on the cost of our freedoms and to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
