The Month Before Christmas

The Month Before Christmas

Twas the month before Christmas and all through the Co-op
All the employees were stirring, and probably some mice too
The stockings were hung, in the offices with care
In hopes that Santa Dave would soon be there

The staff were all nestled, all snug in their departments
While vision of sugar cookies and gifts danced in their heads
They are stocking the shelves and propane being scheduled and delivered
They are getting ready for Christmas and a long cold winter

All at once, out in the yard, there arose such a clatter
The employees ran to the doorway to see what was the matter
Away to the doors, they flew like a flash
Tore open the door and threw up their hands

The sun was shining over the freshly fallen snow
They wondered who just showed, with a sleigh in tow
When what to their wondering eyes should appear
A full size sleigh and eight full size reindeer

With a little old driver, so lively and quick
They know in a minute in must be Santa Dave
More rapid that eagles his course they came
And he whistled and shouted and called them by name

Now Linda, Now Amy, Now Dave and Jacki
On Ruby, On Karen, on Beth and Susie!
We’re heading to the main entrance of the co-op
dash away now! dash away now!

They all entered the Co-op with happiness in their eyes
Where they found all kinds of presents, something for all
They grabbed snow salt and shovels, candles and puzzles too
They crammed them in their sleigh, with Santa Dave too

But more was needed, to fill up the sleigh
They found candles and tools, body soaps and lotions too
Outside décor, dog and cat toys, stocking stuffers and more
Along with building kits for kids, giving them so much to do
