There are a ton of holidays to celebrate in May, but we have our eyes on one in particular.

Celebrate – April is Here
It’s finally April. Celebrate!! This usually means warmer weather is ahead, but you never know when old man winter will once again roar his ugly head. But basically, the calendar says it’s spring! Time for renewals of your soul and your seasonal plantings. We’ve all heard the saying “April showers brings May flowers” right? But April showers brings more than just May flowers….it also brings other joyful plants that we plant, love and nurture. Our vegetable plants. So, let’s talk a little about what all we should be doing in April to get our vegetable gardens rolling. Since we live...

Hope is on the Way
Grey, dark days. Cold temperatures, snowy conditions and ICE! Lots of Ice! Just a typical day that we had most of February! And with these weather conditions comes the emotional ups and downs that only those long winter days can bring. It is just darn right depressing…. BUT WAIT! Hope is on the way. Yes, “HOPE”; also known as “March,” is here!! Now March may also bring some winter like weather conditions, but inside our heads we know that spring is near. Really near. March 20th to be exact. It’s time to plant trees, time to plant your flowers and...

All About Love
Welcome to February 2021. So far, it’s been rough. So, with this month’s blog, I wanted to talk all about love. After all, Valentine’s day is coming up and everyone knows the pressure is on to show that special person some love. And love, right now, is so much better than the hate that seems to be consuming this country. So…. let’s talk love. First of all, I love the Marshall County Co-Op. Most people I know visit the Co-Op each spring to purchase their vegetable plants, flowers and other shrubbery and more. But did you realize that the Co-op...

2021…A New Approach to Resolutions!
Well folks, it’s finally 2021. We made it. This past year has probably been the worst year that most of you have ever experienced. I know it’s been mine. Businesses have had to close down, leaving both the owners and employees suffering. Some businesses could re-open eventually, but some have had to shut their doors completely. People have struggled with isolation which eventually can lead to depression, alcohol, drug addiction and who knows what else. Birthday and anniversary celebrations ceased, and weddings got postponed. No longer were you allowed to visit your loved ones in nursing homes and hospitals, leaving...

November is Thankful Month
When I think of November, I not only think of Pumpkins, turkey dinners and Black Friday, I also think of how thankful I am. Let’s face it. This year has been rough. We are down to the last two months of this year, and all I can hope and pray for is that 2021 is a little kinder to us all. We have suffered through the COVID 19 pandemic and all the things associated with it (masks, businesses’ closing, children trying to just go to school to learn and so much more), terrible fires, hurricanes and flooding. And much more...

So Much You Can Do in July
It’s July! July is a month with a lot of things going on. Gardens are producing vegetables and fruits. Families are going on vacations (as much as social distancing will allow), beaches and pools are filled with kids and laughter. And we also celebrate the 4th of July, a day that represents the Declaration of Independence and the birth of the United States of America as an independent nation. This year a lot of the celebrations have been cancelled due to the coronavirus, but locally Moundsville has decided to keep their fireworks. A great day to celebrate the USA! Despite...
